Smooth conditions
A nice evening flight at 2,000 ft following the
south coast between Beachy Head and Newhaven.
I was flying with another friend who has a Discovery
wing and a Solar Wings Booster. We climbed into glassy smooth air
to 2,000 ft with me getting a better climb rate than him. It was
really nice just to follow the cliffs and look down onto a dead
calm sea with a setting sun in the west giving the whole scene a
nice warm glow.
We turned over the lighthouse at Beachy Head and
headed back towards Newhaven where a ferry was pulling out for France.
No seasickness tonight on the smooth sea.
After about 45 minutes we landed back at the same
field in nil wind. I thought I would try and re-start the engine
and see what happened. After my last flight where it stranded me
in a field miles from my car I was expecting the same thing. I pressed
the starter and it kicked into life, no problem. I don't know what
happened on the last flight to prevent it starting and I guess it
will always be a mystery.
A very nice flight and just what the Wasp was
made for. Route below.

No photos yet but soon.
